The Project

We are proud to showcase our work at the newly renovated Greek Life Community Center at the entrance of Greek Row and the UTA campus. This project was designed to address campus space challenges by bringing together organizations and offering shared spaces for gatherings, training, and events.

Architectural Fabrication worked with Mart Inc. General Contractors and Hahnfeld, Hoffer & Stanford to ensure the center provides a comfortable and conducive environment for the students.

In this project, a range of high quality products were incorporated that not only elevates and complements the building’s design but also enhance its functionality. At the heart of it are the Atlas canopies, installed on the North and South Elevations. With 4′ and 5′ projections, a 6″ fascia trim, and a sleek Kynar standard finishes these canopies deliver both protection and style.

On to the West and South Elevations, our walkway covers stretch over 1,200 sq ft, supported by robust 4″ square tube posts and 6″x8″ gutter beams, providing ample shelter while tying the design together. To top it off, the low and high wall-mounted trellises, crafted with 6″ square tube posts and 4″x8″ tube beams, add a dynamic touch of elegance, providing shaded spaces that enhance the building’s flow.

Aside from the physical products we’ve provided for this project, we take the most pride in contributing to a community initiative designed to foster a vibrant and engaging environment especially for the students.

The Watermere at Flower Mound

September

The Project

Integrated Real Estate Group, a distinguished property development and management company headquartered in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, sought to enhance The Watermere at Flower Mound, a retirement residence. They envisioned a project that combined functionality and aesthetics, ensuring a welcoming environment for the residents.

Integrated Real Estate Group required a range of architectural elements to achieve this vision, including Titan Canopies, Standing Seam Awnings, decorative brackets, and multiple Trellises (including cantilevered). The challenge lay in integrating these elements seamlessly into the design while meeting Integrated Real Estate Group’s high standards of quality and durability.

Arch-Fab took on the challenge by meticulously designing, fabricating, and installing the diverse range of products specified by Integrated Real Estate Group. Our team ensured each element met the specific requirements of the project and aligned with the overall architectural vision. The Titan Canopies provided both architectural appeal and weather protection, crafted from robust 6063 Aluminum Alloy.

The Standing Seam Awnings were carefully designed to contribute to the aesthetic plus offer functional shade. The three cantilevered Trellises offer shady spots to rest on the Wateremere’s walking trail, and the two additional Trellises on the property contribute to year-round enjoyment of the outdoor environment for residents. Bringing the entire building design together, the decorative brackets create a cohesive aesthetic across the campus.

The Terraces at Solana

The Terraces at Solana | Custom Sunshade & Equipment Screen | Project of the Month

The Terraces at Solana

The Project

Scott + Reid General Contractors were looking for a custom design to act as both a sunshade and an equipment screen. Because the building was already standing, they wanted something lightweight that wouldn’t require additional work on the structure of the building. Since a fireplace fan was being hidden, it was necessary to create a design that would both look aesthetically pleasing and still allow the fan to do its job safely.

The project was brought to us by Scott + Reid General Contractors, due to our long standing relationship and the quality of work we provide. Scott + Reid is a unique General Contractor with a location in Addison, with a focus on collaboration and strong communication. Their approach minimizes construction disruptions and truly aims to realize the vision of the project.

We designed, fabricated, and installed a custom sunshade that would double as an equipment screen. To create this custom solution in order to give the equipment ample space to breathe, we created 8 units spanning 40’ with a 48” facia and a 2’6” projection. With a powder coat finish, our custom sunshade provided a beautiful solution.

LvL 29 Windrose Dog Park

LvL 29 Windrose Dog Park Walkway Cover

LvL 29 Windrose Dog Park

August

The Project

Nestled in the growing heart of Frisco’s Legacy West, LvL 29 and Windrose Apartment complexes offer its renters luxury in all spaces beginning with the individual residential apartments all the way to, well, the dog park. The renters and their furry friends can stand under protection from the elements in two fabulously designed and custom fabricated, branded walkway covers connecting the two complexes. Leading landscape architect Kimley-Horn, led the design of this stunningly beautiful amenity and NE Construction managed this project.

Arch-Fab was enrolled in this project by the leadership of long-time trade partner, NE Construction. Arch-Fab embraced the challenge to design, manufacture, and install these branded walkway covers. The shaded covers have differing elevations per post, creating a varying visual aesthetic. Coordination and detailed documentation were required to make sure the posts aligned according to the plan.

To make sure the posts were properly placed to create the arching effects throughout the deckpan, the packing team meticulously labeled each post with the corresponding submittal schedule. The attention to detail enabled the installation crew to act with confidence when identifying the correct posts for each spot along the walkway. The custom covers were created by building a radiused tube frame for support and laser cut panels to create the unique logo patterns within each structure.

This was a truly memorable project for Arch-Fab. The LvL 29 Windrose dog park continues to be an inspiration to the Arch-Fab team, representing our best and most collaborative work. It was a pleasure to create both art and true functionality with the walkway cover creating an opportunity for cohesive branding. Relationships with Kimley-Horn and NE Constriction have only continued to strengthen with each project since the park’s completion.

Harper’s

Custom Water Jet Aluminum Flat Bar with Wood Grain Powder Coat Finish

Harper’s

July

The Project

Dallas is known for its food scene and Harper’s is no exception. It’s a great fit for the Deep Ellum neighborhood, welcoming all visitors to an Asian-fusion sophistication like no other. Milkshake Concepts, an experiential hospitality group, brought this visionary restaurant to life for unforgettable food and atmosphere. Coeval Studio designed a one-of-a-kind entry for this existing building. When walking up to the French doors, the storefront is covered in waves of aluminum wood grain creating sun protection for the diners but also a great photo opportunity.

Arch-Fab was connected to the project through QPC to help design these unique and custom wood grain fins. The original design was inspired by another stunning restaurant in California utilizing real wood waves. However, real wood would not meet code in Dallas so Arch-Fab’s aluminum solution with a wood grain powder coat finish was the perfect choice to meet both intent and code.

Meeting the budget and the timeline constraints were the most important pieces of this project. With the restaurant set to open on New Year’s Eve, Arch-Fab had to move quickly to come up with the design. Starting with a basic concept provided by Coeval Studio, Arch-Fab designed an applicable design that could be taken from the computer to the storefront. Once the dimensions were configured, Arch-Fab determined how many curves could be used to meet their budget while still keeping the continuous arches flow synchronized.

Arch-Fab fabricated the design using a waterjet cutter and because of the ideal size of the curve, two pieces were cut out of one sheet of aluminum flat bar. Arch-Fab also developed several spacing options by inch for the owner to select from. Each spacing option increased the gap between each fin but allowed for multiple choices in order to meet their budget while achieving the envisioned design.

The movement in the waves and a natural wood feel makes for an interesting, modern art piece coupled with functional sun protection. Arch-Fab delivered the custom-designed product on time, meeting the desired intent: to fit the theme of the restaurant. When it came time for the grand opening, the restaurant was a hit and Arch-Fab was proud to be part of such a unique and stunning piece.
